I use GCQuad and video analysis during sessions to help diagnose the problem and create an effective programme or plan, aiming to improve an area of a students game. The learning process doesn’t stop there either; all coaching sessions are summarised by video with audio commentary and shared with students afterwards via an app called OnForm.

Elliot Coates - Head Professional
My name is Elliot Coates, Head PGA Professional of Royal Winchester Golf Club. Since arriving at Royal Winchester in 2013 and fully qualifying as a PGA professional in 2014, I have gained invaluable experience teaching golfers of all abilities. Dedicated to helping students improve each aspect of their golfing games, my dynamic approach to golf coaching has always been one of my strengths. I enjoy working with what’s available and achievable, instead of attempting to build a ‘textbook’ swing. I use GCQuad and video analysis during sessions to help diagnose the problem and create an effective programme or plan, aiming to improve an area of a students game.
James Fairlie - Head Assistant PGA Professional
James has been fully qualified as a PGA Professional for 11 years and always places customer and client experience as being paramount. James enjoys playing but coaching is where his passion truly lies with helping to grow the game through enjoyment and understanding being vitally important to him.
Ben Lawrence - Assistant PGA Professional
Ben is a passionate Assistant PGA professional, with a love for every aspect of the game. Ben brings a unique perspective to golf, with a love of learning and mastering the intricacies of the sport, he is dedicated to helping people enjoy the game as much as he does with his coaching. If he’s not in the pro shop, he’ll be out playing or working on his own game, and is looking forward to playing with the Members at Royal Winchester.’
